Zakynthos (Greek: Ζάκυνθος) or Zante is a Greek island in the Ionian Sea. It is the third largest of the Ionian Islands. Zakynthos is a tourist destination, with an international airport served by many charter flights from northern Europe. The island’s nickname is To fioro tou Levante (Italian: Il fiore di Levante, English: The flower of the East), given by the Venetians.
Makris Gialos is located on the north east coast of Zakynthos and has a superb sandy beach, one of the cleanest on the island. The area is quiet and relaxing, still traditionally Greek and has not been commercialised for tourists. Close by is the natural health spa of Xigia which is known for it healing properties.
The villa offers magnificent sea views over the Ionian Sea and is the ideal location to visit the famous sights of the stunning Blue Caves and the famous Shipwreck cove with the port of Makris Gialos. From the port St. Nikolaos you can catch the ferry to the neighbouring Island of Kefalonia.
